[ Brush strokes of winter ]

化冬天的綿密與濃稠為筆觸,如同法式料理中處理醬料的方式,時而濃郁的擴散,時而滑順的暈染。

將浮世繪所描述的自然景象運用筆觸的線條和力道關係呈現出其質感和調性,轉化過的筆觸在冷冽稀薄的空氣中如絲綢的蔓延,附著在樹梢,垂降在潮濕的土地。

作品意象融合了冬末春初的節日,從聖誕延續到春節。色調設定在白靄中帶著初春的暖色系,是雪融之時叢花等待綻放的喜悅。

Turning the denseness and thickness of winter into brushstrokes, like the way sauces are handled in French cuisine, is sometimes richly diffused and sometimes smoothly extended. The natural scene in Ukiyo-e shows its texture and tone using the lines and strength of the brushstrokes. The transformed brushstrokes spread in the cold air, attach to the treetops, and descend on the wet ground. The imagery of the work merges the festivals of late winter and early spring, from Christmas to Spring Festival.

【 祭りMatsuri 】

The definition 左牆冬梅依附著起伏的山巒,綿密而有規律地生長,低彩度的梅紅色象徵聖誕延伸到農曆年節的漸變。浮世繪中描繪祭典的圖騰常被點綴在和服上,作品細節上經過幾何轉化後的三角扇狀,是松枝是煙花,是一切關於祭典的縮影。

【 Origami 】

邏輯的藝術基礎呈現在相對認知位移的平衡關係,簡化後易於解讀的面部變化過濾掉了累積的真實,延展出不同顆粒蛻變下能夠採取的生存能力,在曲面的向度中產生變異的性格,在抽離卻又激情的口白描述裡,總有那些企圖得到舒緩和溝通的獨白交流。

The art of logic presents a balanced relationship in displacement. The simplified surface filters out the accumulated reality and shows the viability of different particles. It produces a mutated character in the direction of the surface, and it also tries to get a soothing and communicative monologue in the detached and passionate verbal description.

【 Katsushika 】

以日本江戶時代後期的浮世繪師葛飾北齋的名作《神奈川衝浪里》為藍本進行作品的廓形延伸。綿延的浪花隨著潮汐起伏波動,轉化為細碎的雪白色植物在升降之間簇擁,在作品裡產生一種進行中的狀態,靜止的物件本身在疊加的過程中找到靜態的循環與震動。

The outline of the work is based on the famous work "Kanagawa Surfing" by Katsushika Hokusai, a Ukiyo-e artist in the late Edo period, Japan. The rolling waves fluctuate with the tides and transform into snow-white plants clustering among the artworks, and the elements themselves discover a static balance and vibration in the works.

【 紅摺繪 Benizurie 】

浮世繪中以丹色和紅色顏料繪製成的作品稱為『紅摺繪』,作品以不同種紅色的漸變交錯在其中。融雪後太陽的金色重新灑落,春節的喜氣延著山頭和樹梢濃郁地擴散,枯枝在立春裹上金色的果漿,經由點繪的轉化變成片狀的氣泡。

The works of Ukiyo-e painted with red paint are called “Benizurie", so our artworks are interlaced with different red gradients. After the snow melted, the golden sunlight was sprinkled on the hilltops, and the joy of the Spring Festival spread thickly across the treetops. Branches were wrapped in golden fruit pulp in the beginning of spring, and reformed into flaky bubbles through the transformation of dot painting.

【 錦繪 Nishikie 】

經過技術的精進與更新,因多色印刷法而發明出來的錦繪,使浮世繪文化正式邁入鼎盛期。夕陽與雪景以非理性的比例結合、松樹的針葉與楊柳的軀幹搭接,作品重置了此畫派描繪景緻的排列組合,將浮世繪裡常用來呈現自然景觀的扇狀抽象擺置在畫面當中。

After the advancement of printmaking technology,“Nishikie”which invented by the multi-color printing method has officially brought the Ukiyo-e culture into its heyday. The sunset and snow scene are combined in an irrational proportion, and the coniferous wood of pine tree overlap with the trunk of willow. The artwork resets the way that Ukiyo-e depicts the landscape, and the fan-shaped structures are abstractly placed in the picture to present the natural scenery.

【 Ukiyo-e 枝末 】

將浮世繪的語彙濃縮成餐桌上的景緻,撿拾祭典過後遺留的吉光片羽,如年節禮物般被細膩包裝後贈予並珍惜。
